André & Françoise Raffin, Hôtel-restaurant le Commerce

Charming, historic address

Pushing open the door of the hotel-restaurant Le Commerce is like stepping back in time. The time of the Saint-Amour market, when business was conducted right inside the establishment, hence its name. The time when flautist Marcel Moyse had his own apartments and gave lessons to students from all over the world. The time, above all, to take the time to savor dishes whose scents awaken the senses as soon as we arrive.

Opened in 1860, Le Commerce has been a part of André Raffin's life since he started out as a cook in 1965, before becoming manager in 1974. Together with his wife Françoise, they are still at the helm of this charming old-fashioned establishment, much appreciated by both local and visiting customers. A large number of regulars stop off on their vacation travels from Alsace, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, enchanted by the peace and quiet of the local villages and the local produce. A choice also motivated and renewed by the welcome reserved for them in this place with a soul.
