COUSANCE

Commune located on the borders of Bresse and Jura.
During the Middle Ages, Cousance was under the protection and servitude of the lords of the Barony of Chevreaux. Nevertheless, it became its main economic center. The creation of Halles, markets and fairs, and the opening of the road from Lyon to Strasbourg were the main causes of its economic development. Cousance's trade and craft industries have continued to thrive to this day.
