Nestling at the bottom of the valley of the same name, Gizia is made up of several hamlets scattered along the valley floor. Water was a key factor in the valley's development, with up to 7 mills scattered along the river. Unfortunately, very few traces of this past remain. Today, the village still stands at the bottom of the reculée, at the center of an exceptional site and environment where time seems to have stood still.
